Megan Renae Parker

           Megan Renae Parker, Lyric Coloratura Soprano and cross-over artist graces operatic, musical theatre and concert stages alike. Hailed for her “superb showmanship” this two-time NW Regional Metropolitan Opera National Council Finalist’s recent roles include Violetta- La Traviata with Vashon Opera, Francesca Johnson- The Bridges of Madison County with Showtunes Theatre, Alice- in the Broadway bound revival of The Secret Garden with 5th Avenue Theatre, Zerlina- Don Giovanni with Vashon Opera, Lucia- Lucia di Lammermoor with Pacific NW Opera and Peaches/Baby Jane- Jerry Springer the Opera with Balagan Theatre for which she was a Broadwayworld.com, Gypsy Rose Lee & Gregory Award Nominee.  Megan also recently premiered the debut of a song cycle, In Sleep the World is Yours composed by Lori Laitman, commissioned by the Music of Remembrance, and recorded on the Naxos label. 
 

            Other notable roles include Musetta- La Bohème with Pacific NW Opera & Bellevue Opera, Sarah Brown- Guys & Dolls with Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre, Adele- Die Fledermaus with Pacific NW Opera, Mabel- Pirates of Penzance with Tacoma Opera,  Bubikopf- Der Kaiser von Atlantis with Music of Remembrance conducted by Seattle Symphony's Ludovic Morlot, , Marian Paroo- The Music Man and Guenevere- Camelot with Lyric Light Opera, & Giannetta- L'elisir d'Amore with Tacoma Opera & Pacific NW Opera.
 

             Megan made her McCaw Hall debut as a guest artist with the Seattle Men’s & Women’s Chorus, bringing down the house with “Glitter & Be Gay” in celebration of their 30th Anniversary.  Other concert engagements include Mozart’s Requiem and Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli with NW Sinfonietta, Knoxville Summer of 1915 & Mahler Symphony No. Four with the Seattle Festival Orchestra, Music of Our Time with Music Northwest, Jake Heggie & Gene Scheer’s Farewell Auschwitz,  Simon Sargon's Shemà and Shostakovich's Jewish Folk Poetry, Op.79 with the Music of Remembrance. 

             Megan is a Nei Stëmmen Competition Finalist, Sun Valley Opera Competition Finalist, Michael Mitchell Memorial Scholarship recipient, Ladies Musical Club Solo Competition Finalist, Alan Lund Scholarship recipient, and the recipient of a training fund grant from the Seattle Opera Guild. Megan also helps produce monthly events as a Managing Diva of Opera On Tap- Seattle and teaches private voice lessons as the sole proprietor of Vocalpath Studio.
